What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? That’s what Antonia Rocca thought about her impetuous marriage to a Navy SEAL. When circumstances bring them back in the same orbit, the attraction is still there, even though she does everything to fight it. When it comes to light that their marriage isn’t annulled like she’d believed, she’s adamant that ending their union is for the best.

Brendan “Robot” Dean is never one to make a rash decision, so his Vegas marriage is very out of character. However, when he discovers it is still valid, he considers it an opportunity to explore his attraction to Antonia and find out if they really could have a marriage. If only Antonia agreed with him.

After Antonia witnesses a murder, Robot is there to provide support and keep her safe and she finds herself seeing him in a way that has her thinking of a future she never imagined. Before they get the chance to find out, Antonia is taken by the murderer. Robot and his team must race against time to save her from becoming his next victim.

“You know this Robot person?” asked Officer Patterson.
“Yeah, he’s a friend. Let me go let him in before he breaks down the door.” She rushed out of the kitchen down the hallway, pulling the chain and unlocking the door. The second she opened it, six burly men stormed into the apartment. She plastered herself against the wall to stop from getting trodden on.
“Looks like you have your own protection detail, ma’am.” Detective Correa commented with a wry smile.
Antonia swallowed the words she wanted to blurt out, instead she smiled and nodded. What she had was six interfering men who always had to be in control.
If the SEAL team had any regrets for the way they barged in, they didn’t show it. Her apartment wasn’t huge to start off with, but with Robot’s team and the two police officers standing around, it felt more like a matchbox.
“Okay, SEAL team, go into my living room while I finish up with the police. I’ll deal with you in a few.”
The men smiled before heading her request. All but Robot, who widened his stance and crossed his arms over his chest, giving the impression of an immovable rock wall. She narrowed her eyes at him and cocked her head to indicate he follow his team. His lips firmed into an even straighter line.
Damn him, he wasn’t budging. Did she really think he would?
Maybe not, but she hoped he might.
“Is he bothering you, ma’am?” Detective Correa asked, and she had to bite back a laugh at the image of the police officer trying to remove a Navy SEAL.
Robot took two steps until he was standing by her and he stared down the cop. “I’m her husband. I’m staying.”
Antonia gasped at Robot’s admission. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” she hissed at him. She looked around to make sure none of his team heard him. Thankfully the area was empty, but her apartment wasn’t huge, and Robot hadn’t done anything to keep his voice down.
Great, this day was getting worse and worse.
“If you’re her husband, why weren’t you here with her this morning?” The detective looked around the room. “There’s no indication you reside here. Why should we believe you, considering Ms. Rocca’s reaction to your declaration?”
Well, Antonia could be thankful the police hadn’t immediately taken Robot’s word as gospel.
Robot shrugged his impressive shoulders. “It’s a long and complicated story, but the fact of the matter remains, I’m legally her husband and I’m staying with her while you question her further.”
“Ms. Rocca can you confirm this, please? Is this man your husband?”
Talk about being pushed into a corner with no way out, but Antonia had no plans to lie to the police officers and end up in trouble. “Yes, he’s my husband. Technically.”
Shit, that felt so weird to say out loud. And oddly…right.

Never say never...

After loving and losing a soldier once, Isabella Knowles made a vow: No more military men. She’s rebuilt her life and has a classroom full of fifth graders to love, which is more than enough even though her father doesn’t agree. When he sets her up on a blind date, she only goes to humor him -- never dreaming that the man she meets will tempt her to break her one rule.

In theory, Ethan Masters is not opposed to the wife, kids and house with a white picket fence. But he loves his career as a K-9 handler in the air force, and a dream promotion dangles before him like dog tags. While contemplating his future, he accepts a drunken bet for a blind date, never dreaming that the captivating woman fits perfectly into his ideal, all-American dream. Only one problem. She's gun-shy about all things military.

Can Ethan prove to Isabella love is worth the risk?

Blind Date Bet Excerpt © Nicole Flockton 2018

Ethan needed his head examined.
There was no other explanation as to why he was standing in front of a coffee shop, under the simmering Texas summer sun, wearing a bright red fedora. Never, on his grandfather’s grave would he partake in a slam-dunk shotscontest with his buddy, Lincoln Forrest, who was in the army, ever again.
Sober, he never would’ve agreed to a blind date, not after the time Linc had talked him into meeting Kathy Birdland. Talk about disaster from the moment she opened her mouth. He shuddered now remembering the high-pitched twang she emitted and the tobacco-stained teeth that had greeted him when she smiled. He was surprised he hadn’t landed in the Guinness Book of World Records under the shortest date category. Later, he’d found out the real Kathy Birdland had chickened out and paid some random woman fifty bucks to go on the date with him.
And yet, here he waited, on the sidewalk in downtown San Antonio, about to repeat the same mistake.
What he needed to do was swear off tequila shots.
Tequila had led him to wearing a red fedora so school teacher Isabella Knowles would recognize him. He should’ve gone with the more obvious I’m-holding-a-red-rose-because-I’m-a-sucker-on-a-blind-date look. As it was, people were glancing warily at him as they passed, no doubt wondering if he was a pimp or a wannabe drug dealer. Ethan glanced at his watch again. Still another five minutes until his supposed date was due to turn up.
Linc had assured Ethan Isabella was hot. As in H-O-T, hot. She didn’t wear glasses. Wasn’t a spinster with fifty cats. Had all her teeth, which weren’t stained yellow. Didn’t need to dye the gray out of her hair.
He automatically reached down to scratch the back of Sam’s head, but he met fresh air. Of course, his dog wasn’t on this date. He’d left Sam at the base to enjoy her weekend. Although having his K-9 partner standing beside him would distract him from waiting to see if Isabella resembled the bride of Chucky or a Victoria Secret’s runway angel.
“Umm, I know this is going to sound really weird, but are you Ethan Masters?”

She's a long way from home, and definitely not in the Christmas spirit...

Diana Jenkins' dream vacation has turned into a nightmare. First, her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, Australia. Then she's rescued by a tall, blonde Aussie who won't take her back to Sydney, only to the blink–and–you'll–miss–it town of Ghost Gum Springs. Finally, the rental car company won't be able to deliver her a new car until after the holidays. So now she's hot, jet–lagged, and stuck in a small town just like the one she's trying to escape. Australian small towns won't be any different from Montana small towns, and Diana wants out.

A lover of all things Christmas, Connor Shetland is determined to bring the Christmas spirit to the small town of Ghost Gum Springs. Stepping away from his law career to run the local pub for three months is the best decision he's ever made, and now he's relaxed, cheerful, and ready to take on even the grinchiest of Scrooges. He just didn't expect Scrooge to be quite so attractive.

With Diana's mistrust of small-town life and her plans thrown awry, Connor has his work cut out for him. But Christmas miracles never come easy, but they come to those who need them the most.

Diana walked into the pub and halted mid-stride. ‘Oh my God, it looks like Santa vomited in here.’
The only other place she’d seen so many Christmas decorations was in the Christmas Shop in the town over from the one she’d grown up in and had worked in until recently. Every viable surface in the main room was covered with garland. There wasn’t just one tree in the space, but three.
Three.
Who put three Christmas trees in a bar?
‘Santa didn’t vomit, Santa moved his entire workshop to rural Australia. He should’ve stayed in the North Pole.’
Diana had to squint to see who’d spoken. She spotted an older man sitting at the shiny wood bar.
‘Oh, quit it, Fred, you know you like it,’ said Connor as he walked in rolling her suit case and holding one of the boxes she’d seen in the trunk of his car
‘Tell me that box doesn’t hold more decorations?’ The man Connor called Fred grumbled.
Diana wandered over to where Fred sat and plonked herself down on the stool next to him. ‘There’s a whole trunk load of boxes.’
‘Smithy’d pitch a fit if he saw what Connor was doing to his pub. Christmas decorations don’t belong in a fine drinking establishment as this one.’
‘I tried my best to dent as many boxes as I could,’ she commented as she looked around the fine establishment. Beneath all the greenery and shiny baubles the interior of the pub looked similar to the bars she’d visited her first year of college.
‘Fred Gates,’ he held out his hand toward Diana and she took it, giving it a brief shake. ‘What’s a pretty lady like you doing with Santa’s elf?’
‘Diana Jenkins. I think I’m being punished by the big red guy for being naughty throughout the year.’
Fred roared with laughter and slapped his hand on the bar. ‘I like you. How long ya staying?’
‘Just long enough to call the rental company and tell them to come rescue me.’ She leaned closer to Fred, enjoying having a fellow Scrooge to grumble with. ‘Do you think if I tell them I’ve been kidnapped by Santa’s Elf, they’d come get me quicker?’
