My Thoughts:
Sports-themed stories are usually hit or miss and for me, more often than not, they miss. I'm happy to report this is not the case with this book. I actually really enjoyed it. Alex was such a deliciously flawed character that got caught in a trap of his own making (via his bad attitude) and therefore had to suffer the consequences. It was fun watching him have to deal with the fallout of his actions and how it changed him. Sutton was the perfect foil for him. She was nice, sweet, and really just wanted to help people. It was nice to see how she was able to get to Alex and open him up, which in turn, led him to be able to open up to others (somewhat). Their relationship is kind of unconventional and it might not seem plausible, but it just works somehow. They are the perfect foils for each other. So it was heartbreaking to see what they had to go through in order to get their happy ending together. Another great book by someone who is quickly becoming one of my go-to authors.
