My Thoughts:

Mia Kayla is a relatively new author to me, but she is fast becoming one of my favorites. She writes some of the sweetest and drama-filled books around and I love lapping up every bit of it like an eager puppy with a treat. Seriously, from the characters to the story line, I love it all - even when I'm frustrated with said characters. Case in point: Sam. There are so many times in this book where I just wanted to reach into the pages to shake her and scream in her face, "Don't be stupid! You're making the wrong choice." Even with her history, she sometimes blindly goes into things and I can see history repeating itself - even if she can't. And I want so badly for her not to do it. Maybe it's because I've been there and done that and learned from it, or maybe it's because the author is just so damned good at wringing that kind of response out of her readers, I don't know. All I do know is, I was so fully invested in these characters and their lives, I felt more like their friend, wanting to guide them along the right path, and not just a bystander reading a story - and that, my friends, is sheer genius on the author's part.

I have high hopes for the second part of this duet and clear expectations of where I want/think this should go and I can't wait to read it - and I think you should, too.

Mia Kayla is a New Adult/Contemporary Romance writer who lives in Illinois. Most of the time, she can be caught on the train with her nose in a book sporting a cheeky grin because the main characters finally get their happily-ever-after at the end. She loves reading about happy endings but has more fun writing them.
