Under the Orange Moon
Except for one. Dylan knew she loved Ben McKenna from the first time she laid eyes on him. When he started sneaking in her room, she thought he felt the same way. But just as their passion ignited, he left for college and never came back. Until now. Returning home after 5 years, Ben realizes Dylan has always been the one for him. Can he win back her heart and finally find love under the orange moon?
Beyond the Orange Moon
Lucy Dalton was tired of living a life she didn't want. Charlie Mathews was living the life he always wanted. But one night, fate changes the course of their lives forever. A year later, Lucy and Charlie's paths meet again, igniting a spark that neither can deny. Lucy knows he doesn't remember her, but she's already in too deep. Charlie knows the unwritten family rule: Mathews men never admit when they're broken. Can they leave the past where it belongs and find a way to look beyond the orange moon?
My Thoughts:
I was really excited to read this series because the blurbs were good and made it seem like it'd be a fun read. Unfortunately, I just didn't connect with the main characters and when I don't connect with the characters, I usually don't get into the story. Such is the case here. In the first book, I really didn't like Dylan very much. I don't know what it was about her, but she just rubbed me the wrong way,so I didn't really want to read anything more about her. Ben was okay, but that wasn't enough for me to continue reading about him pursuing someone who was pretty much acting like a spoiled little brat in the beginning.
What I did like was the whole family dynamic. I like reading about families that are close-knit and stick together through the tough times and this seems like such a family. I think we need more stories with this kind of dynamic because there are just too many of them out there that are riddled with horrific tales of dysfunctional families. So just for that, I may try this series again at a later date.
