Release Blitz: Duked by Gina Robinson

Title: Duked
Series: The Duke Society #1
Author: Gina Robinson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 16, 2018

Blurb

The controlling old duke’s last wishes.
The mysterious new duke’s first demands.
And I'm the headstrong new duchess who’s caught between them.

From an American billionaire’s daughter, to almost a duchess, to actually a duchess…it’s been a strange 24 hours.

Our plan was simple, if not scandalous. Me, the 29-year-old daughter of an American billionaire, marrying him, the ancient Duke of Manly on his hundredth birthday. But then, neither of us has ever been conventional. We were each going to get something we desperately desired out of the marriage. For me, it wasn't money. And it certainly wasn't sex. The plan was working so well. Until Manly dies at the altar before saying "I do." With his dying breath, Manly maneuvers me into a marriage of convenience with his hot, mysterious heir, Ren Sattler, the new duke. Suddenly I'm drawn into the mysteries surrounding the castle and Ren—mysteries that threaten my hopes of saving the estate and my marriage…not to mention my heart.

DUKED is a sexy, standalone modern marriage of convenience story that blends billionaire, modern gothic, and contemporary romance and has a happily-ever-after.

Excerpt

That night I dreamed of a lover with lush auburn curls. I saw him braced over me, his powerful arms taut and muscled, gently keeping his weight off me, while pounding passionately into me. My heels dug into his bare back as I urged him in, gasping with each deep thrust.
He was smiling, his green eyes tender with emotion and filled with awe, as if he couldn't believe his good luck. It was an expression that always amazed me and filled me with wonder.
I was laughing as I taunted him and urged him to give it to me harder. He was happy to oblige, teasing back. Beams of sunlight streamed through his hair, haloing him and highlighting the red.
I dreamed of a forest, tall firs and sunshine overhead streaming through their branches. The scent of ferns, wild grass, and woodland floor so real I was sure I was actually smelling them. That I was really there in that forest with that man.
Heat. Grass. Birds singing.
Strong shoulders. Physical strength held in check. Breathtaking passion. Laughter.
Dreams morph and confuse and are hard to untangle when you try to remember them after you wake. They evaporate too easily.
Jamie? Scotland?
Bagpipes and fiddles in the distance. The sounds of a brook.
Clutching the man to me, I wrapped my legs around him. Never wanting to let him go. Looking into his face, confused. Not Jamie.
I woke in the heat of the action, arching up to meet him.
His name was on my lips. Austin.

Excerpt

I put my hand on his arm. "I'm serious, Austin. You gave me an opening the day we met, a shot at something between us. I shut you down then, afraid it was too soon.
"When our eyes met at the party, I realized my mistake. Maybe I didn't have all the time left I thought I did. Maybe I didn't have any at all. And if that were the case, what would I regret?" My pulse raced almost as frantically as it had at the party. "When I looked in your eyes, I was almost knocked off my feet with the connection between us. I can't explain it. But there's something between us."
He didn't say anything for a moment, just stared into his glass, head down, ignoring his phone. I couldn't read his face or his thoughts. I supposed I deserved that. It's amazing the scenarios the mind can run through in the breadth of seconds. I braced myself for rejection. Well, it was my turn, wasn't it?
Finally, he finished his drink, set it next to him, and leaned forward with his elbows on his thighs. He looked over at me. "You felt it, too? I thought you did." He grinned, sweetly tentative. "What are you thinking?"
I put my hand on his knee. "I think we deserve to explore it."
"I thought that's what we're doing." His voice was soft with emotion. "I thought that's the game we were playing."
I felt convicted. I hadn't meant to lead him on. Had he seen through me? Had he realized before I did that on the surface we were pretending for the public, but beneath it, the relationship was real.
"I don't want to play games, anymore." I held his gaze.
"So you're saying?"
"We make this real." I felt the urgency to get the words out before I lost my nerve. "That we do more than pretend. We date for real. And…see what happens." My mouth went dry. I wished I hadn't polished off my drink so cavalierly.

Book Blitz: Crushed by Gina Robinson

Crushed by Gina Robinson
(The Rushed New Adult and College Romance Series, #2)
Publication date: October 2014
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:

Some loves can’t be… Crushed

Morgan

Have you ever done something stupid? Like get drunk and hookup with a guy because your heart was broken by someone else? Like his best friend. And then done something really dumb, like fall in love with your hookup? Hookups aren’t stick-around guys. I’m hoping Dakota will be different. But hoping has gotten me in trouble before.

Dakota

The absolute last girl I want to see in my court-ordered alcohol and drug information school, the girl who landed me here in the first place, walks in. After we hooked up, I thought I’d gotten Morgan out of my system. So why is my pulse racing? I can’t afford to screw up right now. I know I should avoid her. Morgan has a way of messing up my life. But she’s the only one who understands.

Excerpts:

Morgan
Alcohol is a big, fat liar. It seduces you with its charm and then whispers sweet lies, like, You look really hot doing a keg stand in a skirt that shows off your butt cheeks and new pink thong. Totally forgetting that you have the flattest butt on the planet. And it's impossible to back arch in that position to accentuate your butt's very few positives.
Or, Yeah, scooping jam directly from the jar with your bare hands and slathering it on your face in an attempt to find your mouth is really going to impress the house guy you've been in love with forever. He's totally going to fall in love with you now.
Or, It's a great idea to sleep with the house guy's best friend out of revenge. That will show Zach. He'll notice you now. And, Telling Dakota all your hurts and deepest private thoughts is perfectly reasonable. He's a sympathetic guy, right? His lips are sealed. Never mind that he's Zach's best friend from high school and the president of the top frat on campus. And could ruin you without giving it a second thought.
Or my personal favorite, Go ahead. Lie down in the alley behind the frat and Dakota's car. You should totally sleep there. It's comfy and safe.
Liar. Liar. Liar!

Dakota
I got to school early, registered, paid my fee, and took a seat in the back of the class. My dad had chewed my ass off when I told him about the fine. He lectured me for half an hour on my stupidity. It had cost him real money. Dad hated paying for shit that could have been avoided.
My buddies at the frat were preparing for a night of first-class partying. Most of them hoping to get laid. And I was in school to learn all about the dangers of drinking. It was a joke. Until she walked in.
My pulse raced. My palms sweated. My dick went involuntarily hard. An absolutely stunning girl stood silhouetted in the doorway—blond, slim but with the kind of figure I found sexy as hell. Fresh-faced, no makeup. Her cheeks pink from the cold. Her eyes warm and bright with exercise and expectation. Her hair curled into the faux fur that rimmed the hood of her coat. She wore flat boots and yoga pants that left just enough to my imagination.
She hesitated at the door, like she was uncertain and nervous. My hero instincts kicked in. I liked her sweet vulnerability. Just as I was about to get out of my chair and play gentleman, introduce myself and see where things led, I stopped cold, recognizing her with a start.
Morgan Peterson? Without makeup. Shit.
You'd think my dick would have gone soft at the sight of her. The damn thing didn't. My pulse involuntarily sped up. What was it about Morgan Peterson that turned me on even when I was furious with her?

Q&A with Gina Robinson about Crushed

Q—Crushed is the second book in The Rushed Series of New Adult College Romance, is that right? Can you read it without having read book one, Rushed?

A—Yes, it is. And, yes, you absolutely can. All the books in this series are standalone romances. Right now there are only two, but I have more planned. The third book, which I'm tentatively calling Hushed, should be out in January 2015. They'll all be standalone reads. Of course, I hope you'll want to read Rushed as well. Rushed will give you more insight, background, and the backstory of the characters in Crushed.

Q—Morgan was the villainess in Rushed. Readers hated her. Weren't you taking a risk by writing her love story and pairing her with Dakota, who many readers loved?

A—My husband told me, repeatedly, that I was crazy. And maybe I was. But I felt all along that Morgan was the perfect match for Dakota. That she had the sass and spunk to take him on. She was the girl who couldn't have Zach. Dakota was the guy who could never best Zach. In a way, they were both living in Zach's shadow.  That gave them both common ground and conflict. I knew that if Morgan ever got past her infatuation with Zach and saw Dakota for the guy he was, she would fall passionately for him.

Many people are big believers in first impressions. You know the old saying, "You don't get a second chance to make a good first impression." While that may be technically true, I've found that they can be wrong. I know I've made misguided assumptions about people after first meeting them. I hoped readers would give Morgan a second chance when they got to know her better. So far, early reviewers have been very positive and grown to love her when they see her vulnerability, what motivates her, and how she sees herself.

Q—What sparked the idea for Crushed? Why write about Greek life?

A—In my Reckless Series, I wrote about independents, Geeds as they're called these days. Which are students who choose not to go Greek. Greek life is a unique experience from being a Geed. What happens when you make a Geed live in a Greek house? How does a guy survive in a house full of girls? What kind of problems and conflict does that cause? I was intrigued by the possibilities. Those questions were the germ of the idea for the series.

Actually, I have to credit my husband, too. He worked his way through college as a live-in houseboy for a sorority. The stories he told me about living with the sorority girls were the basis for Zach's experiences in Rushed. He was part brother, part friend, part servant, part shoulder to cry on. Crushed is an outgrowth of Rushed, a continuation of the story. I had readers begging to see more of Zach and Alexis from Rushed, so I decided to continue their story as a secondary story to Morgan and Dakota's romance.

Q—What's next in the series? Will we see more of Dakota and Morgan? Do you find it hard to leave your characters behind?

A—Yes, absolutely! I grow attached to them and hate leaving them. Which is part of the reason I enjoy writing series. Just like Alexis and Zach become secondary characters in Crushed, Dakota and Morgan continue on as secondary characters in book three. Readers will get to see more of their story even as the focus shifts to a new couple.

Thanks so much for having me! Happy reading, everyone!

Book Blitz:Reckless Secrets by Gina Robinson

I swallowed hard. Amber was the kind of woman who brought out every one of my insecurities. On top of the conversation with Jason, nearly being caught and found out by Karen, and being baited by Harlan, I wasn't sure I could survive the afternoon.
I debated my options, like whether I should sidle up to the bar and claim my territory. Or was it better to watch and learn? What was Logan up to? The minute I turned my back, he went after Amber? Something felt off. Maybe it was me. Maybe I simply didn't belong here.
In desperate need of consoling in cookie form, I headed to the buffet. A cobblestone bar would have been better. But do you think the university had sprung for any? A cookie would have to do. Even though I was thin, almost gaunt, I felt a momentary stab of guilt. A woman like Amber would never let a cookie cross her lips. Screw her and a society that judges a girl because she enjoys comfort food.
I grabbed a small plate and a napkin, and was just about to step around a stocky guy student with his back to me so I could get to the cookies when he suddenly turned around and faced me.
"Ellie? Is that you? Funny seeing you here."
I froze. My stomach clenched. I could not believe my bad, stupid luck. This day was going from bad to worse to total disaster. "Schwartz. Didn't know you had the credentials to get into a party like this."
"Funny, Ellie. Ha, ha." His breath stank of beer and garlic. He swayed slightly, like he'd already been pre-gaming a little too hard. "I'm here with my roommate and his dad who's loaded."
I nodded and reached for the cookie tongs. "Good to see you." Not. But it was the best I could do to dismiss him.
"Heard you saw my man Austin during Halloweekend."
I stared at him and gave him a narrow-eyed glare meant to warn him to back off. "Yeah." I shrugged.
"You gave him shit for too long, Ellie. Don't know why he took it." His gaze slid over me, appraising me with an insult in his look, like I was beneath him. Not worth doing.
"Back off, Schwartz. That's my private business. I don't want to talk about it."
He swayed again and bumped into the table, rattling the serving dishes.
"Someone should give you a breathalyzer test before they let you walk home. Bet you blow a two."
"Very funny."
He sneered. Schwartz had held a grudge against me since I refused to sleep with him when he came onto me at a party shortly before Austin and I had started dating. "You really think you're hot shit, don't you?" He raised his voice with every word.
"Stop it, Schwartz. Leave the past alone. Austin and I are good now. Keep your nose out of it." I turned to go before things got uglier. When Schwartz was hammered, there was no reasoning with him. I had never told him my side of the story. I doubted he wanted to hear it anyway. I certainly didn't want to tell it. And if I knew Austin, he'd told a tale that made himself look good.
But Schwartz wouldn't let it drop. He grabbed me by the elbow. "You think you're so high and mighty. Regents' scholar. Dating a rich boy. You're nothing. Just a little cock tease.
"Austin said your mom was a much better lay than you. Hotter, too. He should have done your old lady again and forgotten about you." His voice had risen to a yell, an angry bellow.
The crowd of people around us went silent. My face flamed. At the bar, which wasn't more than fifteen feet away, Logan turned to stare at us. From his expression, I knew he'd heard every word. Everyone had. His was jaw set. His eyes were hard.
He stormed over. Without saying a word, he slammed Schwartz with a right hook that sent him staggering back into the buffet table. Dishes rattled. He landed on his ass in the plate of cookies, crushing them to crumbs. The coffeepot at the end of the table tipped over, soaking the white tablecloth.
I screamed. "Stop! Stop it."
Schwartz let out a roar and hurled profanities at Logan as he struggled to his feet to fight back, knocking over more dishes. Sending the pitcher of cream next to the coffeepot tipping over.
The scar on my left cheek pounded as if it were a fresh wound again. I grabbed Logan's arm as he cocked it to swing again. "Logan, don't. No! Please."
