LET ME
The O'Brien Family Series Book Two
Cecy Robson
Releasing April 19th, 2016

Once he was broken beyond repair. Now this MMA contender is fighting to be a better man—for her. RT Book Reviews proclaims that the O’Brien Family series from award-winning author Cecy Robson “has the hottest brothers ever!” And in Let Me, it is Finn’s turn to discover how love can heal the deepest wounds.

A mixed martial arts star on the rise, Finn O’Brien dismantles his opponents with brutal precision. And yet beneath his fierce persona, Finn is raw from a trauma he’s buried for years . . . until the day his deep-rooted rage erupts and lands him in court-mandated therapy. Finn’s not one to bare his soul, but if talking it out means meeting beautiful women like Sol Marieles, he’ll give it a shot.

Sol is working toward her master’s degree in psychology, and already she feels like she’s in over her head. With an important internship on the line and a scary family situation demanding her attention, the last thing Sol needs is Finn around to distract her. The man is ripped and seriously sexy yet it’s his troubled side that warns her to keep her distance. But their attraction is intense, and he clearly has the heat to see how far and fast their passion takes them.

Alone, Finn and Sol have been fighting to find happiness in their lives. Together, there’s no stopping them as they face their greatest challenges—not in the ring, but in their hearts.

My Thoughts:

I can't even begin to describe how I feel about this book. I thought I was just getting another typical book with an MMA fighter theme, but I soon learned there was nothing typical about this book, starting with the hero himself. Finn is not your average fighter. He doesn't just want the glory of fame and being the best fighter in his class. No, his motivation for fighting goes so much deeper than that and when you find out what it is, it's heartbreaking. It will touch you deep, cut you deep and make you so angry you'll want to get into the octagon and fight along with Finn, if not for him. But the way he ultimately handles it (after much angst, of course) will mesmerize you.

Sol, on the other hand, is a fixer and the person she most wants to fix is her mother - until she meets Finn, of course. You see, her mother suffers from mental illness and Sol has gotten into her head that she can fix her and make her better. It doesn't help that her father's counting on her too much to do just that. So Sol has put off having her own life and happiness as she dedicates herself to training in her chosen field so she can apply those principles to her mother. But then she comes up on Finn's radar and things begin to change.

When these two get together it's sweet, funny, and very sexy. They make fireworks together. And you can tell they truly care about each other even if one of them (Finn) can't actually say the words. Of course true love never takes a calm course and there is an incident so horrific it sends Finn into a tailspin with horrible memories of what happened to him as a child and Sol running the other way, bearing the burden of a guilt that isn't really hers to bear. I was on the edge of my seat watching this play out between them but the end result was worth it.
